Jeenbekov receives Afghan Ambassador Mohammed Issa Mesbah

Bishkek, Jan.18, 2020./ Kabar/. Kyrgyz President Sooronbay Jeenbekov received on Saturday Ambassador of Afghanistan to Kyrgyzstan Mohammed Issa Mesbah.

The meeting took place on the occasion of completion the Afghan ambassador's diplomatic mission in Kyrgyzstan, the press service of the President said.

The sides exchanged views on the current state and prospects of bilateral cooperation between the countries, including in trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian spheres.

Sooronbay Jeenbekov noted the contribution of Mohammed Issa Mesbah in strengthening Kyrgyz-Afghan relations.

He stressed deepening of cooperation with Afghanistan is one of the important directions of the country's foreign policy.

The Kyrgyz leader noted with satisfaction the positive dynamics of bilateral cooperation in recent years, as well as the successful working visit of Afghan President Ashraf Ghani to the Kyrgyz Republic as part of his participation in the regular meeting of the Council of Heads of State of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization in June 2019, and the first official visit of Afghan Foreign Minister Salāhuddīn Rabbānī' in April 2019.

The President wished the Afghan ambassador good health, well-being and further success in his work.

Mohammed Issa Mesbah emphasised during his diplomatic mission in Kyrgyzstan, he always took into account the interests of both sides.

Thanking the country's leadership for supporting the initiatives during his work, he expressed confidence in further fruitful development of the Kyrgyz-Afghan bilateral cooperation.
