Bishkek, Oct. 5, 2020. /Kabar/. President of Kyrgyzstan Sooronbay Jeenbekov received on Monday Thomas Bozerup, the head of the Limited Election Observation Mission (LEOM) of the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR) who monitored the country's parliamentary elections.
The head of the mission presented a preliminary report on the results of the elections, the Kyrgyz president’s press service reported.
According to Thomas Bozerup, a preliminary report has now been prepared and the final results will be published in two months.
He expressed satisfaction with the use of new technologies in Kyrgyzstan, which allowed to determine the results in two hours after the polling stations were closed.
The mission notes the fact that state TV channels provided single free airtime for candidates from all political parties.
"We welcome this, as it shows that all political forces are treated equally and equal conditions were created for them,” Thomas Bozerup said.
Jeenbekov thanked OSCE/ODIHR for sending observers to Kyrgyzstan at such a difficult time for the world.
The head of state once again noted that equal conditions for the entire campaign period were created for all parties, including new ones.
The Kyrgyz leader noted with gratitude that he would take into account all recommendations set forth in the preliminary report of the OSCE/ODIHR observation mission and would wait for the final report.
"The Kyrgyz side will carefully study and consider the views and recommendations of the international observers. I, as the President, am interested in strengthening the previously achieved positive moments and eliminating shortcomings in the process of organizing and holding elections", concluded President Jeenbekov.
