Jeenbekov: Russia and Kyrgyzstan should have a common educational space

Bishkek, Mar. 27, 2019. /Kabar/. Kyrgyz President Sooronbay Jeenbekov noted the importance of the I Forum of Rectors of the Russian Federation and the Kyrgyz Republic, which is being held before the state visit of Russian leader Vladimir Putin to Bishkek.

He stressed that allied relations between the states should, above all, be strengthened in the spiritual, humanitarian and intellectual spheres.

“I am pleased that our institutions of higher education are also committed to mutual integration and cooperation following our close political and economic relations. As you know, thirty years ago we jointly represented a single educational space. That education system was quite competitive in the world. It successfully met the demands of the economy, social life, government and defense. Now the situation is different,” Jeenbekov gave the idea.

He pointed out that the strategic partnership and friendship of Russia and Kyrgyzstan determines the human capital that universities form. In this regard, the President expressed the belief that by working together higher schools of the two countries will be able to lay the foundation for strategic cooperation in the development of human capital.
