Bishkek, Oct.18, 2019. /Kabar/. Yesterday, Oct 17 Kyrgyz President Sooronbay Jeenbekov familiarized with the progress of implementation project on drinking water supply of Kara-Tektir village of Toktogul region within the framework of his two-day working visit to Dzhalal-Abad Oblast.
The President was informed the project provides for the construction of a new water supply system, complete replacement of existing water supply networks in the village, his press service reported.
Construction works are carried out within the framework of the Community Development and Investment Agency (ARIS) project on sustainable development of rural water supply in cooperation with the Islamic Development Bank, which is aimed at rehabilitation of water supply systems and improvement of sanitation of settlements of the country.
The clean water project in Toktogul region’s Kara-Tektir village is expected to be completed in 2020, which provides access to clean drinking water to about 4 thousand local residents.
Sooronbay Jeenbekov once again stressed the importance of full supply of clean water to the population of all regions, noting that the work in this direction is under his special control.
He added the problem of drinking water is relevant throughout the country, in this regard, the state bodies involved are taking comprehensive measures, and appropriate work is underway to attract international development partners.
