Jeenbekov: Strengthening border security - under special attention of country's leadership

Bishkek, March 10, 2020. / Kabar /. President of Kyrgyzstan Sooronbay Jeenbekov, as part of his working trip to Batken Oblast, visited the Batken border detachment, his press service said.

Abdikarim Alimbaev, the first deputy chairman of the State Border Service of the Kyrgyz Republic, said that the Batken border detachment was formed in 1999.

He informed that the military personnel of the Batken border detachment are guarding and protecting complex sections of the Kyrgyz-Uzbek and Kyrgyz-Tajik state borders with a total length of more than 400 km.

As part of the integration of Kyrgyzstan into the EAEU, modern border complexes have been built in the Batken border detachment.

Abdikarim Alimbaev noted that modern complexes of modular buildings include all the necessary infrastructure: barracks with administrative premises, houses for officers and their families, warehouses, closed boxes for storing and repairing equipment, etc.

In addition, there are training facilities.

Along with this, the need for further improvement of the infrastructure of the Batken border detachment was noted. Abdikarim Alimbaev spoke about plans to build houses for officers and ensigns. It is also planned to erect new office premises in the location of the detachment itself, including the barracks for military personnel.

The President emphasized that strengthening border security will always be under special attention of the country's leadership. He noted that the implementation of measures to improve the conditions of service for the military and increase the combat effectiveness of the Armed Forces will be continued.
