Jeenbekov: There is formal attitude towards implementation of Council's decisions

Bishkek, Jan.24, 2020. /Kabar/. "A formal attitude is observed in implementing the Security Council's decisions," President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sooronbay Jeenbekov said at today’s regular meeting of the country's Security Council.

He stressed implementation of the Council's decision "On urgent measures to combat corruption in judicial, supervisory and law enforcement agencies” will largely depend on relevant laws and regulations, adopted by the Government and the Jogorku Kenesh (Kyrgyz Parliament).

In this regard, he ordered Parliament Speaker and Prime Minister to control the process of adopting the draft law on amendments to the laws "On Combating Corruption" and "On State Civil Service and Municipal Service".

The President provided an example where by decision of the Security Council, the law enforcement agencies were invited to publish the results of investigations in high-profile cases on a permanent basis.

"The Interior Ministry and national security bodies publish relevant materials, and the Financial Police do not provide any information, referring to the fact that this is information of official nature," stressed the President.

The regular meeting of the Security Council of Kyrgyzstan with the participation of President Sooronbay Jeenbekov is taking place at the Ala-Archa state residence.

There are two issues on the meeting’s agenda: the implementing the decisions of the Security Council and proposals to the list of strategic objects of Kyrgyz Republic.

The Council will also consider the implementation of the decisions of the Security Council "On urgent measures to combat corruption in judicial, supervisory and law enforcement agencies of the Kyrgyz Republic", "On measures for digital development of the Kyrgyz Republic", "On measures to ensure security in the field of subsoil use of the Kyrgyz Republic”.

The meeting will result in the adoption of a decision of the Security Council of the Kyrgyz Republic.

The Security Council of the Kyrgyz Republic consists of the President - Chairman of the Council, parliament speaker, prime minister, head of the President’s Office, chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces, deputy PM, chairman of the Committee of the Jogorku Kenesh (Kyrgyz Parliament) in charge of defense and security issues, the Security Council’s secretary, prosecutor general, Ministers of Foreign Affairs, Finance, Internal Affairs, Emergency Situations, Chairmen of the State Border Service and State Committee for National Security.
