Bishkek, Apr. 1, 2019. /Kabar/. At the end of this month, Kyrgyz President Sooronbay Jeenbekov will pay a working visit to China to participate in the II Belt and Road International Forum on Economic Cooperation.
According to head of the Department of Foreign Policy of the Kyrgyz President’s Office Daniyar Sydykov, the visit of the head of Kyrgyzstan to Beijing will take place on April 26-27 at the invitation of Chinese leader Xi Jinping.
“Within the framework of the working visit, signing of bilateral documents is not expected. But we with our Chinese friends are very actively and seriously preparing for the upcoming state visit of the Chinese President, Mr. Xi Jinping, to the Kyrgyz Republic, which is scheduled for the eve of the SCO summit,” Sydykov said.
In addition, he added that serious negotiations are currently underway on signing bilateral documents to strengthen political interaction, fruitful cooperation in trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian relations, science and technology, and close coordination within the framework of cooperation in the SCO and other international organizations.
“As for the SCO summit itself, we have held a number of expert meetings as the chairman. Literally on the eve of the main summit, we have planned three major meetings: the ministers of defence, the secretaries of the Security Councils and the Council of Ministers of Foreign Affairs,” Sydykov said.
The draft agenda of the SCO Council of Heads of State will be approved in May at a meeting of foreign ministers. The Bishkek Declaration will be the main document for signing on the basis of the SCO summit. To date, all leaders of the SCO member states have confirmed their participation at the upcoming summit in Bishkek.
The SCO summit will be held in Bishkek in June of this year.
