Jeenbekov: Trade and economic relations with Turkey are among priority areas for Kyrgyzstan

Bishkek, Jan. 28, 2019. /Kabar/. President Sooronbay Jeenbekov met President of The Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu last weekend.

“Trade and economic ties with Turkey for our state are among the priority directions. The current position of the Kyrgyz-Turkish relations can be described as a trusting, mutually beneficial and developing cooperation,” Jeenbekov said, the press service of the Kyrgyz President’s Office reported.

The head of state stressed that the meeting will be an important event in the further strengthening and development of mutually beneficial trade and economic relations between Kyrgyzstan and Turkey.

Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu noting the possibilities in the field of transport and modernization of the logistics infrastructure, spoke about the potential in the construction of industrial zones in the country and cooperation in the implementation of joint projects. In addition, he noted that there is great potential in the development of cooperation between the two countries in the energy sector.

He also stressed the importance of developing cooperation, expanding business relations, increasing the flow of investments and trade between the two countries and proposed the creation of a joint chamber of commerce and industry, shared his views on the implementation of large infrastructure projects in Kyrgyzstan.

The President, noting the serious economic potential of the country, stressed that the strengthening of bilateral relations will be based on agreements in trade, transport, mining, agriculture, energy and health reached during an official visit to Turkey in April 2018.
