Jeenbekov visits Tokyo Rope MFG Corporation headquarters

Bishkek, Oct.21, 2019. /Kabar/. Today, Oct.21 as part of his working visit to Japan, Kyrgyz President Sooronbay Jeenbekov visited the Tokyo Rope MFG Corporation headquarters in Tokyo city.

The President got acquainted with the activities of the corporation and held a meeting with Chairman of its Board of Directors Shigeto Tanaka, the President’s press service reported.

The sides exchanged views on the prospects of investment cooperation.

The President noted with satisfaction almost all the agreements, reached at the meetings with the management of Tokyo Rope MFG in 2017 and 2018 in Bishkek, have been implemented, and the subsidiary of the corporation is successfully operating in Kyrgyzstan.

Chairman of the Board of Directors Shigeto Tanaka shared his plans to expand the activities of the corporation's subsidiary in Bishkek, which currently operates in Kazakhstan, Sri Lanka and the Philippines.

The chairman emphasized the corporation is interested in developing cooperation with Kyrgyzstan.

The corporation's subsidiary, with the support of the Japanese government, is implementing joint projects in Kyrgyzstan. An avalanche-type structures are currently being installed on a section of the Bishkek-Osh highway. In the near future, similar works will be started on another section of the road.

Tokyo Rope MFG is one of the world's largest manufacturers of high-tech steel ropes.

The corporation's subsidiary in Bishkek was opened in 2017.
