Jeenbekov: We have set goal to develop electoral system of Kyrgyzstan

Bishkek, Nov.14, 2019. /Kabar/. The “Election Commissions of Kyrgyzstan - Experience of Democratic Development and Prospects" Conference, dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the Central Commission for Elections and Referendum of the Kyrgyz Republic (CEC) was held in Bishkek.

Head of the Office of President of the Kyrgyz Republic Dosaly Esenaliyev read out a welcoming speech to the Conference participants on behalf of Kyrgyz President Sooronbay Jeenbekov.

In his address Sooronbay Jeenbekov congratulated members and staff of election commissions at all levels and Conference participants on the 30th anniversary of the CEC, his press service said.

“Thanks to the efforts of the previous and present CEC convocations in applying innovative technologies and ensuring the transparency and credibility of the elections, Kyrgyzstan occupies a leading position in the post-Soviet space.

A new model was introduced to ensure citizens' suffrage and the holding of clean, transparent, fair and competitive elections.

This model was used during elections of deputies of the Jogorku Kenesh in 2015, elections of deputies to local councils, a referendum in 2016 and the election of President of the Kyrgyz Republic in 2017.”

He expressed his deep gratitude to all CEC members, noting their professionalism and responsibility in this important work.

“We have set a goal to develop Kyrgyzstan's electoral system and make it as democratic and legal as possible.

The Electoral Legislation Improvement Strategy for 2018 sets high standards for election procedures, tasks to enhance political culture and strengthen the mechanisms of free elections, and the development of digital technologies.

Not only strict observance of all the procedures provided by law, but also stable, democratic development of our society and state depend on your professional and personal qualities, honesty, decency, professionalism.

I congratulate you on the 30th anniversary of the Central Commission for Elections and Referendum of the Kyrgyz Republic!”

President Sooronbay Jeenbekov wished all the CEC members success and prosperity.
