Bishkek, Nov.20, 2019. /Kabar/. Kyrgyz President Sooronbay Jeenbekov sent an appeal on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the signing of the Convention on the Rights of the Child.
In his appeal, Jeenbekov said this year marks the 25th anniversary of Kyrgyzstan's accession to the Convention, his press service said.
“Thus, our society has made a commitment that every child will be cared for by both parents and the state.
We must ensure enforce the rights of children, to guarantee access by children to quality education, health care, the right to a family environment and a safe society, and to prevent violence against them.”
President Jeenbekov also noted the need to support children with disabilities, enabling them to develop on an equal footing with their peers.
Also the head of state said the Tumar campaign to support children, launched on June 1 this year, should become an annual campaign.
