Bishkek, Aug. 13, 2020. /Kabar/. Today, Aug. 13 President Sooronbay Jeenbekov inspected medical facilities of Dzhalal-Abad Oblast as part of his working trip to the south of Kyrgyzstan.
He toured construction work at the Dzhalal-Abad Oblast Clinical Hospital, his press service reported.
Currently, a new two-storied building for 100 beds is being constructed here.
The president also toured a new building of the emergency department of the Hospital, which was built and equipped with the assistance of the German Government.
According to Kumar Botokarayev, the Hospital’s Director, the new building of the emergency department will be fully operational starting next week.
President Jeenbekov talked to the medical workers and recalled the work being done to repair the idle buildings in order to convert them into modern hospitals.
"The outbreak of coronavirus infection has acutely revealed the problem of shortage of hospitals and medical personnel," the head of state stressed.
He noted that based on the principles of public-private partnership, hospitals of a new type will also be built, where people will be able to receive comprehensive medical services.
"We will make every effort to raise salaries and improve the social status of doctors. In this respect, we will rely on the results achieved by digitizing all the spheres providing public services to the population, including healthcare. These measures will be taken in order to reduce the shadow economy and increase revenue to the national budget. We will allocate these funds to raise salaries of social workers," Sooronbay Jeenbekov noted.
