Bishkek, July 9, 2020. /Kabar/. Today, July 9 President Sooronbay Jeenbekov made an address to Kyrgyz people in connection with the epidemiological situation in the country, his press service reported.
President Jeenbekov’s address reads:
"Dear Kyrgyzstanis,
Dear compatriots!
Like other countries of the world, we are experiencing all the difficulties and consequences of the pandemic. We are going through a very difficult period in our modern history.
Coronavirus infection has brought much grief to our people. Because of the disease, we have lost dozens of our compatriots. Famous individuals who have devoted their entire lives to the development of the Kyrgyz state, their people and their country have passed away.
Dear compatriots!
We are in a situation of ruthless struggle for people's health. The success of this combat depends on our unity. Thanks to the consent, mutual assistance, solidarity and high civil responsibility of everyone, we will overcome this challenge.
A heroes of today's time - our medics, days and nights are fighting an invisible enemy, risking their lives for the health of the people. I bow my head to their courage and selflessness, and express my deep gratitude for their invaluable work.
The situation in the country is under my personal control and that of the Security Council.
Dear Kyrgyzstanis!
The hardest test that has fallen on our share has united our people, strengthened unity and harmony in our society. Our entrepreneurs, volunteers, as well as all our concerned compatriots are rendering their best help.
I call on all to further unity, solidarity and mutual assistance. Responsibility is on each of us. Every citizen is responsible for his family, for his children.
I am responsible towards the people.
Dear compatriots,
Many questions are being raised among people. One of them is talk that the authorities have “pocketed” aid from international financial institutions.
The Government openly publishes information on this issue. Our society is open.
We are aware of our high responsibility before history and future generations.
Our nation is being tested for strength, fortitude and firmness, courage and selflessness.
May peace and harmony always reign on our land!”
