Jenish Razakov: Cabinet of Ministers attaches great importance to anti-terrorist exercises conducted in Kyrgyzstan

Bishkek, Sept. 26, 2018. /Kabar/. Vice Prime Minister Jenish Razakov took part in the meeting of the leadership of the anti-terrorist units of security agencies and special services of the member-states of the Commonwealth of Independent States entitled Issyk-Kul-Antiterror-2018.

"The government attaches great importance to the joint anti-terrorist exercises conducted in the country. Today, the republic has esablished a single mechanism of the anti-terrorist system with the participation of entities engaged in antiterrorist activities, designed to bring all law enforcement agencies to maximum preparedness for timely and effective response to any terrorist threats. Of particular concern is the fact that terrorist and extremist forces do not abandon attempts to penetrate the territory of Central Asia in order to destabilize the socio-political situation in the states of the region,” Jenish Razakov said.

He said that it is necessary to draw the attention of competent bodies and interacting state structures of CIS partners on the need to take comprehensive measures in connection with the clearly manifested trend towards sabotage and terrorist actions.

"We understand that terrorists, carrying out their actions in the most vulnerable places, are counting on destabilizing the situation in the society, are trying to generate distrust among the population about the authorities' ability to ensure the safety of civilians and stable social and economic development of the states of the region," Jenish Razakov said. "Active partnership with concerned states and international organizations is an indispensable condition for successfully establishing security."

The exercises of the CIS countries - Issyk-Kul - Antiterror-2018 - are held under the auspices of the CIS Anti-Terrorism Center, in accordance with the program of cooperation of the member-states of the Commonwealth of Independent States in the fight against terrorism and other violent manifestations of extremism for 2017-2019.

The meeting of the leadership of the anti-terrorist units of security agencies and special services of the CIS member-states - Issyk-Kul-Antiterror-2018 - is being held from September 25 to 27 in Cholpon-Ata, Issyk-Kul oblast.
