Bishkek, Nov. 27, 2019. / Kabar/. A joint meeting of the Council of Ministers of Foreign Affairs (CMFA), the Council of Ministers of Defense (CMD), the Committee of Secretaries of Security Councils (KSSC), and the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) is taking place in Bishkek.
Opening the joint meeting, Kyrgyz Foreign Minister Chingiz Aidarbekov warmly welcomed the participants.
“I want to welcome all the participants who, despite the busy schedule, were able to take part in the joint plenary meeting. We hope that our joint work will be productive and successful. This meeting traditionally takes place on the eve of the CSTO meeting, and the agenda is full of current issues,” he said.
The Kyrgyz FM noted the need to to discuss a number of documents that will be submitted to the heads of the CSTO member countries tomorrow.
“We believe that the results of the organization’s activities over the past year are fruitful and highly appreciate the implementation of the priorities announced by President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sooronbay Jeenbekov. In order to implement the priorities, under the chairmanship of Kyrgyzstan, the CSTO carried out work to strengthen the military potential of the CSTO and deepened cooperation in such areas as the fight against terrorism, drug trafficking and security issues. Cooperation between countries was also deepened, taking into account traditions and world politics,” Aidarbekov said.
