Judoist from Kyrgyzstan wins silver medal at European Cup

Bishkek, Feb. 18, 2019. /Kabar/. Athlete from Kyrgyzstan Kubanychbek Aibek uulu won the silver medal of the open European Cup in judo among juniors, the Committee on Physical Culture and Sports of the city of Osh reported.

The championship was held in St. Petersburg (Russia) on February 16.

Aibek uulu competed in the weight category up to 60 kg. He started from the 1/16 final stage, where he defeated Russian Dmitry Kurdyumov. In the following bouts, the Kyrgyz judoist scored ippon in the bouts against David Kleiber from Austria and Ilya Zaitsev from Belarus. In the fight for reaching the final, Aibek uulu did not leave chances to another Russian, Malik Karmov.

In the struggle for "gold" he lost to Russian Khetag Basayev. As a result, the Kyrgyz athlete has a silver award.
