Bishkek, Feb. 5, 2024. /Kabar/. Kyrgyz judoka Erlan Sherov won a bronze medal at the international tournament Paris Grand Slam 2024.
He started from the 1/16 final stage, competing in the weight category up to 90 kg. Sherov won two victories in a row over athletes from Belarus and Mongolia. In the quarterfinals, the Kyrgyzstani lost to the representative of Azerbaijan.
In the repechage bout, Sherov first defeated the Belgian, and in the bout for bronze he defeated the Brazilian and took third place.
The tournament was held in Paris from February 2 to 4. Kyrgyzstan was represented by four athletes: Kubanychbek Aibek uulu (weight category 66 kg), Chyngyzkhan Sagynaliev (73 kg), Asad Masabirov (81 kg) and Erlan Sherov (90 kg). The national team was prepared by coach Sergei Kladnov.
