Both Kyrgyz and Russian languages must be evenly developed in Kyrgyzstan, MP Karamushkina

Equal development of both Kyrgyz and Russian languages is important for the Kyrgyz Republic, deputy of the Parliament Irina Karamushkina said at a round table Preservation of the role of the Russian language in the information and communication environment of Kyrgyzstan.

Karamushkina said that one language can not be developed to the detriment of another. "I envy those who know two or three languages. I have been teaching Kyrgyz for three years already, and learning new words and expressions is a pleasure for me. I gradually plunge into the world of the Kyrgyz language and fell in love with it," she said.

The participants discussed the recession of the Russian language in mass media space, its role in education, and also as a factor of competitiveness of Kyrgyz citizens in the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU).

The roundtable was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Education and Science, scientists, honored educators, as well as political scientists, journalists and youth leaders.
