Kazakh leader Tokayev conveys words of greetings to Kyrgyzstan’s new top leadership

Bishkek, Oct. 30, 2020. /Kabar/. President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev received Foreign Minister of Kyrgyzstan Ruslan Kazakbayev.

According to the press service of the Kyrgyz Foreign Ministry, the meeting took place as part of Kazakbayev’s working visit to the Nur-Sultan city.

During the meeting, Minister Kazakbayev informed about the gradual stabilization of the situation in Kyrgyzstan and the return of political processes to the legal field, and assured that the Kyrgyz side remains fully committed to all its international obligations and strict implementation of previously signed bilateral and multilateral international treaties.

Taking into account the concerns of the Kazakh side, he emphasized the Government of Kyrgyzstan would take the necessary measures to ensure the security of Kazakh investments in accordance with the country's legislation.

In the course of the negotiations, the parties discussed topical issues of Kyrgyz-Kazakh cooperation in political, trade and economic, water and energy, transit and logistics spheres, and outlined prospects for further cooperation.

Special attention was paid to the issues of joint counteraction to COVID-19 spread. President Tokayev and Minister Kazakbayev debated the socio-economic situation in Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan during the coronavirus pandemic.

"At the end of the meeting, the Kazakh president conveyed his greetings to the new top leadership of Kyrgyzstan and wishes for further success in the work,” report says.
