Bishkek, May 7, 2021. / Kabar /. Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Trade and Integration has a goal to increase the volume of exports of goods and services to $29.2 billion this year, The Times of Central Asia reported citing Deputy Minister of Trade and Integration Kairat Torebayev as saying at the parliament meeting on May 4.
"The Ministry has analyzed commodity positions taking into account the basic and optimistic forecasts. So, in the case of the basic forecast, the planned volume of exports of non-primary goods by the end of 2021 will be $15.7 billion. The growth drivers will be products such as coke and refined petroleum products, computer products, finished metal products, tobacco products, construction products and light industry products. In the case of an optimistic forecast, the planned volume of exports of non-primary goods by the end of 2021 will amount to $20.4 billion," Torebayev said.
This year, the Ministry of Trade and Integration plans to participate in the export acceleration of enterprises of the food, chemical and machine-building industries and light industry. China, Russia, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, and the United Arab Emirates have been selected as priority areas for acceleration.
According to preliminary estimates, the export potential of food products to China, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, the United Arab Emirates and Russia is estimated at $226.4 million, of chemical products to these countries — $78.9 million, and of engineering products — $101 million.
In 2020, Kazakhstan's non-primary exports of goods amounted to $15.4 billion. Exports of services amounted to $5 billion.
