During his official visit to Turkey on March 19, the Deputy Prime Minister-Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan Mukhtar Tleuberdi held a number of meetings with representatives of Turkish business circles, The Times of Central Asia reported with reference to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan.
During negotiations with the heads of seven leading Turkish holdings Koc Holding, Yildirim Holding, TAV Holding, Calik Holding, Kibar Holding, Atabay and Goknur Gida, the parties discussed investment cooperation in the food industry, mechanical engineering, mining and metallurgical industry, infrastructure, ICT, chemical industry, and pharmaceuticals.
The foreign minister said that Kazakhstan attaches great importance to the development of trade, economic and investment ties with Turkey. “We are ready to provide comprehensive support to Turkish investors. Each project is of particular importance for the development of our state and further expansion of the Kazakh-Turkish strategic partnership,” said Tleuberdi.
The heads of Turkey's leading holdings stressed that Kazakhstan is an investment attractive state for them and voiced specific proposals for the implementation of their projects in Kazakhstan. In particular, these proposals included expanding the types of investment preferences, solving infrastructure issues, and further improving the work of Industrial Zones and Special Economic Zones.
The volume of planned investments of these holdings in Kazakhstan in the medium term will amount to over $1 billion.
Minister Tleuberdi also held a meeting with Turkish companies planning to launch 10 new production facilities in Kazakhstan this year in the fields of mechanical engineering, healthcare, food industry, infrastructure, mining and housing and communal services.
