Bishkek, Aug. 20, 2021 . / Kabar / . Chairman of Kyrgyzstan’s Cabinet of Ministers Ulukbek Maripov held a meeting with Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Askar Mamin.
Maripov and Mamin met within the framework of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council meeting, which is taking place these days in Cholpon-Ata town of Issyk-Kul Oblast, the press service of the Cabinet reported.
The sides discussed a number of topical cooperation issues in political, economic, cultural and humanitarian areas.
During the meeting, Ulukbek Maripov expressed the readiness of the Cabinet of Ministers to increase mutual cooperation between the two states, including within the Eurasian Economic Union.
He also noted the gradual recovery of economic activity and positive dynamics in trade. Thus, the mutual trade turnover between the countries for January-May this year amounted to USD 495.6 million, which is 28.4% more compared to the same period last year.
In turn, Askar Mamin assured that the Kazakh side is also interested in expanding trade and economic cooperation and deepening bilateral cooperation.
Following the meeting, the sides signed a Protocol amending the Protocol of the 9th meeting of the Kyrgyz-Kazakh Intergovernmental Council, signed on April 2, 2021, in terms of facilitating the process of transportation of goods.
Also, an agreement was reached on the allocation of 1 thousand tons of seeds for winter sowing by the Kazakh side in September this year.
Besides, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers - Minister of Economy and Finance of Kyrgyzstan Akylbek Zhaparov and Minister of Trade and Integration of Kazakhstan Bakhyt Sultanov signed the Concept of establishing an industrial trade and logistics complex.
