NUR-SULTAN (TCA) — Amid the increase in the incidence rate of coronavirus infection in several regions of Kazakhstan, the governmental Commission to Prevent the Spread of Coronavirus Infection in Kazakhstan on June 18 introduced additional measures to stabilize the epidemiological situation in the country, primeminister.kz reported.
The Commission decided to introduce additional restrictive measures on the weekend — June 20-21, 2020.
In the cities of Nur-Sultan, Almaty, Karaganda, Shymkent, Pavlodar and Ekibastuz, the work of shopping and entertainment centers, trading houses, chain stores, indoor food and non-food markets, and bazaars will be suspended; the work of public catering facilities will be allowed only in the open air in a street format while maintaining social distance; the operation of public transport will be limited; the work of public places (parks, squares, embankments, beaches, water parks) and fitness centers will be suspended; the access to the street for people over 65 years old will be restricted.
In settlements with a population of over 50 thousand people, the work of public places (parks, squares, embankments, water parks) will be suspended, and the access to the street for people over 65 years old will be restricted.
The entrance to tourist areas geographically close to the cities of Nur-Sultan, Almaty, Karaganda, Shymkent, Pavlodar and Ekibastuz will be closed. For people already located in these zones it is highly recommended to observe social distance.
Kazakhstan has to date reported 16,351 cases of coronavirus infection, including 105 deaths. The number of new cases over the past 24 hours is 474.
