Bishkek, May 18, 2018 / Kabar /. In Bishkek First Deputy Foreign Minister Dinara Kemelova met with UN Assistant Secretary-General for Human Rights, Head of the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) Andrew Gilmour.
During the meeting, the sides discussed the priority areas for cooperation between the republic and OHCHR, and also expressed confidence in strengthening further cooperation in the field of human rights.
Kemelova reaffirmed the commitment of the Kyrgyz Republic to the principles of democracy and the rule of law, and obligations to promote and protect human rights, and in this regard stressed the importance of continuing of providing assistance to to Kyrgyzstan by OHCHR, especially on the issue of ensuring social and economic human rights in the Kyrgyz Republic.
