Kerben, July 30, 2019. / Kabar /. As part of the presidential decree on the development and digitalization of the regions, a local airport was repaired in Kerben town of Jalal-Abad Oblast, which had been idle for 15 years.
Renovation of the airport, calculated for domestic flights, has been completed. Head of the airport Mambetaaly Ismanaliev said, the repair work was going strictly in accordance with the schedule and soon the airport should start receiving planes.
“Today, the work is completed in full. The airport building was reconstructed, favorable conditions were created for the passengers, the runway and the aircraft parking area were repaired,” he said.
“The airport is designed for servicing domestic flights. The length of the runway is 1,700 meters, width 35 meters,” he concluded.
Kerben airport was built in 1979 and has worked for 25 years. Since 2004, the airport has been idle.
