Bishkek, July 14, 2020. /Kabar/. To date, more than KGS 3 billion have been spent on combating COVID-19 coronavirus infection by various agencies, Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan Kubatbek Boronov said during a briefing.
He added an applications for KGS 2 billion were submitted, these funds will be also allocated.
"The Ministry of Health has received KGS 488.3 million for payment of compensations to medical workers, this is in addition to their main salary. Payment of compensations began in late March, when KGS 32 million were allocated, in April - almost KGS 130 million, in May and June - almost KGS 109 million.
Also, KGS 1 billion 900 thousand was allocated for the purchase of PPE, necessary things for physicians. KGS 225.6 million was also allocated through the Medical Health Insurance Fund (MHIF) for the payment to physicians and KGS 300 thousand for personal protective equipment,” the prime minister said.
As Boronov added, the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the republic has received KGS 208.9 million.
"A hospital with 1,715 beds, of which 50 are ICU, was organized at the site of the former Gansi military base. The hospital is equipped with all the necessary equipment," the head of the government concluded.
