King Salman Global Academy for Arabic Language launches productive skills evaluation courses

Riyadh (UNA-OIC) - The King Salman Global Academy for Arabic Language has launched courses for the evaluation of productive skills (speaking and writing) aimed at training Arabic language teachers for non-native speakers, enhancing and developing their skills in service of the Arabic language, and strengthening its cultural, scientific, and civilizational contributions.

The Productive Skills Evaluation Courses (speaking and writing) are among the new training programs through which the KSGAAL intends to equip participants with scientific assessment methods according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) to develop and enhance the skills of Arabic language teachers for non-native speakers and train them in the field of productive skills evaluation (speaking and writing).

The program also targets those involved in evaluating productive skills in the second/foreign language, faculty members, administrative staff, and practitioners with at least three years of experience in this field within Saudi Arabia or abroad.

In the first and second quarters, the KSGAAL will conduct six training courses, some of which will be conducted in-person for those within Saudi Arabia and some virtually for those outside. The training course will span twelve hours, distributed over four training days, each focusing on a set of integrated topics for the trainee's profession.

The KSGAAL encourages interested participants to register for the first course, scheduled to take place in Riyadh at the KSGAAL's headquarters from February 18 to 21, by following this link: (https://training.ksaa.gov.sa). The remaining courses will be held from March to May of the current year, 2024.

In this context, it is worth mentioning that the launch of the KSGAAL's Productive Skills Evaluation Courses (speaking and writing) aligns with enhancing the global status of the Arabic language. This achievement is in line with the objectives of the Human Capacity Development Program (one of the programs to achieve Saudi Vision 2030), aiming to enhance the presence of the Arabic language, support its dissemination and use, preserve its linguistic integrity and identity, support its spoken and written forms, and facilitate its teaching and learning both within and outside Saudi Arabia.
