Bishkek, Oct. 31, 2018 / Kabar /. The Korean International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) allocated $ 3.5 million to Kyrgyzstan for the My Village project, which is aimed at improving living conditions in villages.
A memorandum of cooperation between the State Agency for Local Self-Government and Inter-Ethnic Relations and the KOICA Representative Office was signed today in Bishkek.
The goal of the project is to improve the living conditions of rural residents through development based on community participation, creating a number of pilot model villages for further dissemination of experience.
The project covers 30 villages in different regions of the country. 54% of the total amount of this money will be used to implement rural projects in 2018-2022.
“We have been negotiating for a very long time, but this means that this is a very important document and an important project. I hope that My Village project will be an exemplary model that will contribute to the development of the regions of Kyrgyzstan,” said the head of the KOICA office in Kyrgyzstan, O. Dongil.
The event was attended by representatives of the Presidential Administration, the Government Office and Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to the Kyrgyz Republic Ha Tae-yuok.
