Bishkek, Aug. 2, 2024 . / Kabar / . On Aug. 1, the KOICA Kyrgyzstan Office in cooperation with the KOICA Alumni Association held the first knowledge sharing workshop for 86 civil servants from various government agencies, the KOICA Kyrgyzstan Office said.
During the very first knowledge sharing seminar in 2024, the lecture presented the anti-corruption policies of the Korean government. The lecture was delivered by recognized expert and the partner in the KOICA Scholarship Program (SP), Professor Kilkon Ko of Seoul National University.
To enhance the capacity of civil servants in partner countries, KOICA supports them with various programs including Master's, PhD and Short-term capacity building trainings. This training program promotes the development of partner countries and friendship between Korea and partner countries by helping to strengthen the capacity of their civil servants, and is one of KOICA's major projects. KOICA Kyrgyzstan office has supported 926 civils servants with its capacity building programs and graduated civil servants form the 'Alumni Association' and actively interact to share what they learned.
As one of its activities, the alumni association holds a knowledge sharing seminar to enable those who participated in KOICA's Capacity Building and Development for Tomorrow (CIAT) program an opportunity to share and discuss their knowledge and experiences in Korea.
The participants showed great interest in Korea’s case and history of preventing corruption, and they will apply the knowledge they learned to their workplaces. KOICA hopes that this event will encourage knowledge exchange among alumni and ultimately contribute to the promotion of friendship between the two countries, and will support various knowledge dissemination lectures and cultural exchange events.
