Bishkek, Dec.5, 2024. /Kabar/. Investment opportunities of Kyrgyzstan were presented in Seoul during the Kyrgyz-Korean Investment Dialogue with the participation of Kyrgyz President Sadyr Zhaparov.
The main goal of the event was to expand cooperation between the two countries, effectively implement agreements and establish contacts for the further development of trade and economic relations, the National Investment Agency under the President of Kyrgyzstan said.
The Kyrgyz side prepared a presentation on investment opportunities in the republic for Korean official economic and private business circles, such as agriculture, textile and clothing industry, construction, tourism, mining industry and the energy potential of the republic.
Director of the National Investment Agency Talantbek Imanov noted that in recent years there has been a significant grow in the inflow of foreign direct investment, which indicates an increase in the attractiveness of the Kyrgyz Republic for investors.
"For 10 months of 2024, GDP amounted to $ 12.6 billion, and the growth rate was 9.6%. The Kyrgyz Republic demonstrates sustainable growth in all sectors of the economy. In recent years, the country has carried out major reforms of tax legislation and introduced a simplified taxation system," Imanov added.
In addition, he stressed that Kyrgyzstan has enormous energy potential due to significant reserves of renewable energy sources, primarily hydropower.
"Energy resources can be multiplied by the amount of solar and wind energy. Kyrgyzstan can become a regional center for the export of environmentally friendly electricity and make a significant contribution to solving the problem of climate change," the head of the agency added.
Over 40 representatives of Korean business took part in the Kyrgyz-Korean Investment Dialogue.
