Kumtor pays record amount to Kyrgyzstan's budget

Bishkek, June 8, 2022 / Kabar /. All taxes and obligatory payments to the country's budget are paid by Kumtor Gold Company CJSC on time and in full.

According to data of the company, in January-May 2022, Kumtor Gold Company paid taxes and other obligatory payments to the budget of Kyrgyzstan in a record amount of KGS 17.3 billion soms ( USD 206.2 million) against the plan of USD 74.9 million.

Of these, KGS 11.6 billion are aimed at developing the mineral resource base of Kyrgyzstan. Starting from 2021, the new management of Kumtor will allocate funds in the amount of 4% of the revenue received in excess of the planned budget taxes to pay this additional tax, the report said.

According to KGC, the volume of mining operations at the Kumtor mine for the five months of 2022 amounted to 69.15 million tons. In January-May 2022, 2 million 705 thousand tons of ore were mined with an average gold grade of 3.33 g/t.
