Bishkek, Feb.24, 2020. /Kabar/. The Department of Chemicalization and Plant Protection of the Ministry of Agriculture, Food Industry and Reclamation encourages Kyrgyz farmers to start applying new technologies in crop protection.
At the press conference at Kabar News Agency, Head of the above department Arstanbek Akmatov said climate change is taking place in the world, which is breaking the model for growing crops.
"We encourage the use of new technologies in growing crops, such as Glycerol, which is an improved type of fertilizer. It does not have any negative impact on the products. The drug penetrates the plant in 90%, while other drugs reach the cell only up to 30%. "Glycerol also differs in that it helps the plant to do without moisture, which is very good for dry areas.
According to forecasts, in March anomalously high temperatures is expected - this could turn into death for sowing. I call on farmers to process their crops several times with Glycerol fertilizer beforehand," Akmatov said.
The Department head added there has recently been a meeting with French colleagues, who presented a new drug that accumulates moisture in the soil.
"We are interested in the introduction of new technologies that will help us to maintain yields against the backdrop of climate change. Also now, drones are being used to treat the crop, and it's better than other means, because its height can be adjusted and the treatment is more qualitative," Akmatov said.
Lenara Niyazbekova, President of the Kyrgyz Association of Exporters and Importers said Kyrgyzstan's agricultural potential is only gaining momentum and could become an engine of the country's economy.
"Our farmers have good export potential. The Association trains farmers in applying new technologies and in informing them about the process of exporting their crops. Kyrgyzstan's products stands out for its rich taste and are environmental friendliness.
Glycerol has no negative impact on this. The export of agricultural products has been growing in recent years. We signed an export agreement with Uzbekistan for $4million," Niyazbekova said.
The press conference participants also said the opening of a Glycerol fertilizer production facility in Kyrgyzstan in the near future with investments estimated at $50 million is under discussion.
