Kyrgyz Ambassador and Economic Development Minister of Azerbaijan discuss prospects of bilateral cooperation

Bishkek, Feb. 13 / Kabar /. Ambassador of Kyrgyzstan to Azerbaijan Aizhigit Buranov met by mutual agreement on February 11 with Minister of Economy of Azerbaijan Shahin Mustafayev, the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs reports.

During the meeting the sides exchanged views on the current state of trade and economic cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and Azerbaijan and prospects of its development. It was noted that the relevant ministries and departments of the two countries have done some work on the expansion of bilateral economic cooperation, the establishment of direct ties between economic entities and business circles of the two countries. In the course of economic cooperation a variety of activities is held that contributed to the intensification of bilateral cooperation.

At the same time, Buranov and Mustafayev stressed that in order to further expand trade and economic relations its necessary joint efforts to promote cooperation in the investment sphere, including consultations on the establishment of Kyrgyz-Azerbaijani investment fund, signing of a memorandum between the ministries of economy of Kyrgyzstan and Azerbaijan, signing of the agreement on avoidance of double taxation, as well as to optimize and diversify the trade structure between the two countries.

The sides discussed the results of the meeting of ministers of economies of the Turkic Council member-states, which took place on December 21 last year in Baku and proposals to the next meeting of the intergovernmental commission on economic and humanitarian cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and Azerbaijan.
