Bishkek, March 4, 2019. / Kabar / Ambassador of Kyrgyzstan in Tajikistan Zhanysh Rustenbekov met on Feb. 28 in Khujand with Chairman of the Sogd Region of the Republic of Tajikistan Rajabba Ahmadzoda.
The press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic reported that, during the meeting, topical issues of bilateral cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan were discussed. The sides agreed on the need to intensify work on the delimitation and demarcation of the Kyrgyz-Tajik state border and stressed the importance of joint measures to prevent incidents in border areas.
Noting the traditional bonds of friendship, as well as close cooperation between the authorities of Batken region of the Kyrgyz Republic and Sughd region of the Republic of Tajikistan, the sides discussed issues of organizing joint cultural, mass and sporting events in Batken region of the Kyrgyz Republic and Sughd region of the Republic of Tajikistan.
The sides positively noting the increase in commodity turnover between the Kyrgyz Republic and the Republic of Tajikistan, stressed the importance of providing assistance to the business circles of the two countries, including in the creation of joint Kyrgyz-Tajik enterprises.
At the end of the meeting, the sides attached great importance to the acceleration of work on the delimitation and demarcation of the Kyrgyz-Tajik state border.
