Bishkek, Aug. 5, 2021. / Kabar /. Ambassador of Kyrgyzstan to the United States Baktybek Amanbaev discussed the issue of in-depth teaching of English in schools in Kyrgyzstan with Acting Director of the US Peace Corps Carol Spahn.
During the meeting, the sides exchanged views on bilateral cooperation, in particular on the activities of the Peace Corps in Kyrgyzstan, the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan said.
The ambassador highly appreciated the activities of the Peace Corps in Kyrgyzstan during almost 30 years, aimed at teaching schoolchildren and teachers in English, and made specific proposals for further improving their activities, the report said.
In turn, acting director said that, despite the COVID-19 pandemic, due to which Peace Corps volunteers were forced to suspend work in Kyrgyzstan, some of them work in a virtual format.
So, following the meeting, the sides agreed to maintain close working contacts.
