Bishkek, Aug. 4, 2023 / Kabar /. Ambassador of Kyrgyzstan to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) Ulukbek Maripov met in Riyadh with Minister of Economy and Planning of the KSA, Faisal bin Fadel Al-Ibrahim.
During the meeting, the sides discussed topical issues of strengthening and expanding trade, economic and investment cooperation between the countries, as well as prospects for cooperation in the field of digital transformation. At the same time, they noted the huge potential for mutually beneficial cooperation in all areas in which both parties are interested.
The sides discussed the results of the first Gulf Cooperation Council and Central Asia Summit, which was held on July 19 in the city of Jeddah. In the opinion of the parties, this format will expand the opportunities for interaction for all participants and make it possible to fully realize the intention to expand and strengthen cooperation between the two regions.
The sides also noted with satisfaction the forthcoming opening of regular flights on the Jeddah-Osh-Jeddah and Jeddah-Bishkek-Jeddah routes. The establishment of air communication should become one of the main drivers for increasing the volume of trade between the countries, increasing the influx of tourists and mutual integration of business processes.
During the meeting, Maripov spoke in detail about the work carried out by the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic aimed at creating favorable conditions for foreign investors and handed over the information on the investment climate in the Kyrgyz Republic for review. The ambassador paid special attention to steps to expand joint investment projects.
In turn, F. Al-Ibrahim highly appreciated the dynamics of development of cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and Saudi Arabia. He expressed confidence that the work of the Embassy of the Kyrgyz Republic in the KSA will continue the course towards further strengthening of multifaceted cooperation, while expressing readiness to contribute to the strengthening of business ties between the two countries.
During the meeting, the sides also discussed the upcoming visits of the high delegation of the Saudi Arabia to the Kyrgyz Republic, as well as the planned events with the participation of business circles of the two countries.
Following the meeting, the sides agreed to continue work on the implementation of the agreements reached between the leaders of the two states in the framework of participation in the last Gulf Cooperation Council and Central Asia Summit.
