Bishkek, April 20, 2022 / Kabar /. Deputy Foreign Minister of Kyrgyzstan Dinara Kemelova met with Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to the Kyrgyz Republic Lee Won-jae and Head of the KOICA Representative Office in the Kyrgyz Republic Lee Jong-soo, the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic reported.
During the meeting, the sides discussed holding events dedicated to the celebration of the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Kyrgyzstan and the Republic of Korea. Particular attention was paid to the organization of mutual visits at the highest and high levels this year.
The interlocutors discussed issues of close cooperation within the UN and other international organizations and global platforms.
As part of the initiative of President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Zhaparov to declare 2022 the "International Year of Sustainable Mountain Development" through the UN, the interlocutors touched upon the implementation of joint projects on mountain ecosystems.
They emphasized the importance of implementing KOICA projects in the Kyrgyz Republic, in particular, the My Village project, projects to strengthen the capacity of the fire and rescue service, organic agriculture, increase energy efficiency, strengthen the capacity of the healthcare system in the field of prevention and control of infectious diseases, digitalization, as well as the promotion of projects to protect and realize the rights of people with disabilities and the opening of direct flights between Bishkek and Seoul.
At the end of the meeting, thesides noted the importance of further strengthening cooperation, both on a bilateral basis and within the framework of international organizations.
