Kyrgyz Ambassador to France meets with Director of Department of Continental Europe of French Foreign Ministry

Bishkek, Feb. 21, 2024. /Kabar/. Ambassador of the Kyrgyz Republic to France, Sadik Sher-Niyaz met in Paris on February 19 with Director of the Department of Continental Europe of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of this country, Brice Roquefel.

According to the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic, during the meeting Sher-Niyaz reported on important internal political transformations in the Kyrgyz Republic. The parties discussed a wide range of issues of Kyrgyz-French bilateral cooperation, paying special attention to the prospects for the further development of political, trade, economic, investment and cultural interaction between the two countries. The mutual intention to expand the political dialogue by organizing visits at high and senior levels this year was confirmed.

The ambassador focused on the need to develop economic, trade, and investment relations by concluding agreements in the field of investment protection to avoid double taxation, as well as organizing the next Kyrgyz-French business forum in Bishkek.

At the end of the meeting, the parties discussed issues of cultural and humanitarian interaction. Rokfel noted with satisfaction the admission of 122 students from Kyrgyzstan to French universities in 2023.

In turn, the ambassador of the Kyrgyz Republic proposed to intensify bilateral cooperation on advanced training programs in France for museum employees and French language teachers from Kyrgyzstan.
