Kyrgyz Ambassador to UK speaks at Mining and Investment Prospects Forum in London

Bishkek, Nov. 26, 2018. /Kabar/. Ambassador of the Kyrgyz Republic to the United Kingdom Gulnara Iskakova took part and spoke at the 7th MINEX Eurasia 2018 Forum on Mining and Investment Prospects in Eurasia, which took place in London on November 23.

As part of her participation in the forum, the ambassador presented her presentation in the section of the forum devoted to the mining industry in Central Asia ("Mining in wide Central Asia") on the topic: "The Mining Industry of the Kyrgyz Republic: Legislation on Subsoil Use, Investment Opportunities and Prospects". In her speech, she covered the current state and prospects of investment in the field of the mining industry in Kyrgyzstan.

The ambassador described open and promising natural mineral resources of Kyrgyzstan, spoke about the government’s efforts in creating favorable conditions for foreign investors in the mining industry, the procedure for granting the right to use subsoil resources, favorable taxation of mining companies and the general investment climate in the Kyrgyz Republic. In addition, the forum participants were familiarized with ongoing reforms in subsoil use in Kyrgyzstan, a transparent procedure for obtaining a license, as well as upcoming tenders and auctions.

At the same time, Iskakova drew the attention of the forum participants, first of all, to the open political system of the country with the only government in the CIS and Central Asia that is close to parliamentary form, the geographically important strategic location of Kyrgyzstan, which is at the between major trading partners, as well as the huge development potential of industries, including hydropower and mining, agriculture and tourism.

Materials about investment opportunities, as well as an overview of the sectors of the economy of Kyrgyzstan were distributed among the participants of the forum.

The MINEX Eurasia Forum 2018 was organized by Advantix Ltd. in partnership with the Department of International Trade (DIT) of the United Kingdom, which provided a platform for discussion and exchange of views on the possibilities of a business partnership in the field of mining and investment in Eurasia with a focus on Mongolia, Kazakhstan, Russia and the countries of Central Asia.

The 1st Mining and Geological Forum - MINEX Kyrgyzstan 2018 - was held in Bishkek on October 31 - November 1, 2018 under the motto “Regional Development through Investments”. It was organized by Advantix Ltd, Mountain Forum LLP in partnership with the Kyrgyz Mining Association, Adzhi-Service with the support of the State Committee for Industry, Energy and Subsoil Use.
