Kyrgyz and Kazakh presidents agreed to reconstruct two checkpoints

Bishkek, Nov. 27, 2019. / Kabar/. Presidents of Kyrgyzstan Sooronbay Jeenbekov and Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev agreed to reconstruct the Ak-Zhol-Kordai and Ak-Tilek-Kara-Suu checkpoints on Kyrgyz-Kazakh border.

During his state visit to Kyrgyzstan, President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev noted that due to the fact that more than 50% of trade between Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan falls on the border regions, work is being done to improve checkpoints.

“In particular, the work is underway to change the status of the Tokmok-Sarytobe and Ken-Bulun-Aukhatta checkpoints from bilateral to multilateral. The Kichi-Kapka checkpoint will also begin to operate,” he added.

President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has arrived in Kyrgyzstan today and held a meeting with Kyrgyz President Sooronbay Jeenbekov.

Tomorrow, Tokayev will take part in a session of the Collective Security Council of the Collective Security Treaty Organization in Bishkek.
