Kyrgyz and Pakistani Presidents discuss cooperation

Bishkek, Oct. 29, 2018 / Kabar /. President Sooronbay Jeenbekov, who arrived in Istanbul to participate in events dedicated to the 95th anniversary of Turkey’s formation, met with Pakistani President Arif Alvi. During the meeting, prospects for expanding trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian cooperation between the two countries were discussed.

“I am ready to continue and support a constructive dialogue next year within the framework of the Kyrgyz presidency in the SCO. And I will be glad to have another opportunity to meet with you,” President Jeenbekov stressed, adding that the Kyrgyz side expects his visit within the framework of the SCO Summit in June 2019.

In addition, the issues of protecting the rights and interests of Kyrgyz citizens in Pakistan, including the appeal of citizen Ayilchiyeva on the return of her minor son, were raised.

In turn, Arif Alvi stressed that he would take under his personal control this issue and would not allow violation of the rights of citizens of a foreign state in Pakistan. Upon return, Arif Alvi will invite the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Pakistan and give appropriate instructions.

In order to increase trade turnover between the countries, the Pakistani leader suggested opening direct flights Bishkek-Islamabad and organizing mutual visits of business delegations to search and discuss joint projects.

Arif Alvi invited the Kyrgyz leader to visit Pakistan at any convenient time.
