Bishkek, Dec. 16, 2020 / Kabar /. A meeting of Minister of Health of Kyrgyzstan Alymkadyr Beishenaliev with Minister of Health of Russia Mikhail Murashko took place in Moscow on Tuesday, the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic reported.
During the meeting, the ministers discussed the main areas of cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and Russia in the fight against coronavirus infection and ensuring epidemiological security.
Beishenaliev expressed gratitude to the Russian side for humanitarian assistance to Kyrgyzstan in a difficult period for the country associated with the spread of coronavirus infection. He noted the special role of a group of Russian medical specialists in overcoming the peak incidence of coronavirus in the country in July this year.
The health ministers of the two states have noted an increase in new cases of coronavirus infection. In this regard, taking into account the advanced experience of Russia in combating the new coronavirus infection, a discussion was held on the adoption of joint measures and the provision of medical humanitarian support to Kyrgyzstan, including through the possible supply of the Sputnik V vaccine.
In turn, Murashko said that given the friendly relations between the two states, the Russian side pays special attention to the issue of providing all kinds of assistance to Kyrgyzstan to fight coronavirus infection. Also during the meeting, the issue of the possibility of launching production in the territory of Kyrgyzstan of the Russian vaccine Sputnik V was discussed.
Following the meeting, the sides agreed to continue to make joint efforts to combat the spread of COVID-19.
