Tashkent, Sept. 5, 2017 / Kabar /. Expert groups of Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan held a regular meeting on Sept. 2-3, 2017 in Osh, the press service of the Uzbek Foreign Ministry reported.
The talks were held in accordance with the agreement reached within the framework of the implementation of Section VI "On cross-border cooperation" of the Protocol of the 8th meeting of the Kyrgyz-Uzbek Joint Intergovernmental Commission for Bilateral Cooperation (Aug. 16, 2017, Bishkek) and in order to create conditions for the activation of trade- economic cooperation, facilitation of mutual trips of citizens.
The delegations of the two countries discussed the implementation of the provisions of the Agreement between the Governments of Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan on reciprocal trips of citizens (Oct. 3, 2006) and on border crossing points (July 24, 2004). The sides also discussed specific issues on opening separate border checkpoints.
The meeting is resulted in signing the Protocol.
