Bishkek, Dec. 20, 2022 / Kabar/. With the support of the Global Textile and Clothing Program implemented by the International Trade Center and funded by the Government of Switzerland, Kyrgyz artisans took part in the 26th largest international exhibition of craftsmen and companies L'Artigiano in Fiera in Milan (Italy), widely known and popular among European countries.
The exhibition was attended by the Association of Craftsmen "Dairy", the Art Group "Saima", the IE "Asel Abdykadyrova" and the craft cooperative "Zhanylandy", which presented handicraft products to the European market.
L'Artigiano in Fiera literally translates as "Artisan at the Exhibition". This exhibition-fair was established in 1996 and aims to promote handicrafts at the international level. More than 3,000 artisans from 110 countries and over 1 million visitors take part in the fair every year.
One of the requirements of L’Artigiano in Fiera is to present products that are authentic, original and qualitative, based on traditional technologies, using natural fabrics, and also aimed at preserving the environment and human health.
Artigiano in Fiera is an event where companies promote and sell their products to the general public and develop a network of loyal customers. The exhibition is the perfect place for artisans from all over the world to showcase their products, tell their story and share their work while celebrating the culture and traditions of their area.
During the exhibition days, companies from Kyrgyzstan were able to carry out direct sales, and also established contacts for the supply of products with wholesale customers from Sardinia island, Saudi Arabia, Switzerland, Holland and Italy itself.
According to Zhipara Raimkulova, head of the Dairy Handicraft Association, there is a high demand for Kyrgyz products, which are competitive among European goods, and arouse great interest in Kyrgyzstan.
“Many exhibition visitors have repeatedly noted the high quality of our handicraft products, design, as well as attractive prices. There is a European buyer's confidence in Kyrgyz handicraft products. I would also note that our artisans managed to expand their customer base, wholesale buyers appeared, with whom cooperation agreements were reached. We have established stable relations with the organizers of the exhibition, who see the prospect of the presence of Kyrgyz products in the European market, since there is a stable demand for products made from natural raw materials and using traditional techniques. In addition, we have the opportunity to present Kyrgyz products on the digital platform of the exhibition throughout the year,” added Zhipara Raimkulova.
Svetlana Sheysheeva, manager of Saima Art Group, noted that participation in the Artigiano in fiera exhibition was a great experience for their company for direct sales in the European market, and in particular in Italy, as well as searching for wholesale buyers.
