Bishkek, Feb.8, 2020. /Kabar/. The situation at the Kyrgyz-Kazakh section of the state border is characterized as stable. The night of Feb. 7-8 was quiet, the press service of the State Border Service of the Kyrgyz Republic reported on Saturday.
"Increase in passenger traffic (mainly women and children) from Kazakhstan to Kyrgyzstan was recorded at the Ken-Bulun-Avtodorozhnyi and Tokmok-Avtodorozhnyi checkpoints, with no incidents or conflict situations," the report says.
The checkpoints and subdivisions of the Kyrgyz State Border Service, stationed at the Kyrgyz-Kazakh border in Chui Oblast, continue to serve in a reinforced regime.
According to Kazakhstani law enforcement agencies, a mass brawl between residents of Masanchi village, Korday District, Jambyl Region occurred on Feb.7.
“Police forces have localized the conflict and the situation is under control," the press service of the Jambyl Region Police Department said.
