Bishkek, Feb. 3, 2022 . / Kabar / . The Ministry of Economy and Commerce of Kyrgyzstan hosted on Thursday a working meeting on the transit of goods through the Kyrgyz-Kazakh state border.
The press service of the ministry reported that the meeting was held with the participation of First Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Arzybek Kozhoshev, some state bodies and entrepreneurs-exporters operating in the light industry.
At this meeting, entrepreneurs voiced the problem associated with the restrictions by Kazakhstan in relation to transit cargo coming from Kyrgyzstan to Russia.
At the moment, transit cargoes are delayed on a constant basis. Terms of inspection of vehicles are up to 10 days and more, at the same time, facts of goods spoilage are noted, because during inspection of vehicles garments of domestic producers are simply thrown on the ground and products lose their marketable appearance.
Many light industry enterprises produce on the basis of contracts with chain stores in Russia and these products have a seasonal nature, a delay of even one week reduces the demand in the main markets
Entrepreneurs complained that tightened measures on inspection and clearance, applied to goods in transit, passing through the territory of Kazakhstan, is a failure by Kazakhstan international trade rules, create unfair competition between business entities of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) and, accordingly, Kazakhstan violates the principles of freedom of movement of goods in the Union, aimed at ensuring free movement in EAEU internal market.
According to the results of the meeting, the relevant state bodies were instructed to submit proposals to address these problems, which will be introduced and discussed in the upcoming official meeting in Kazakhstan.
