Bishkek, Dec. 9, 2021. / Kabar /. Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan Akylbek Zhaparov met on Thursday with Head of the Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN) Representative Office in Kyrgyzstan Shamsh Kassim-Lakha, the press service of the Cabinet said.
During the meeting, the head of the Cabinet of Ministers expressed gratitude to the AKDN for its assistance and support in the implementation of important projects in education, healthcare, support for the population of mountain regions, and the financial and economic sphere in the Kyrgyz Republic.
A special topic of the conversation was the successful operation of the University of Central Asia (UCA) in Naryn, which Akylbek Zhaparov called an exemplary scientific and educational institution that provides affordable, quality education to the youth of Kyrgyzstan and Central Asia.
"It would be wonderful if the Aga Khan Foundation would consider developing Naryn State University following the example of UCA, which would make Naryn the scientific, educational and cultural center of the republic," the head of the Kyrgyz Cabinet said.
For his part, Shamsh Kassim-Lakha thanked the chairman of the Cabinet for warm welcome and meeting, noting that the establishment of UCA would not have been possible without government support.
At the end of the meeting, the sides agreed to continue multifaceted cooperation in priority areas for Kyrgyzstan.
