Bishkek, April 11, 2022. / Kabar /. Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan Akylbek Zhaparov received Vice President of the Asian Development Bank Shixin Chen.
According to the press service of the Cabinet of Ministers, during the meeting the sides discussed the state and prospects for the development of bilateral relations in the energy sector. In particular, they discussed the development of renewable energy sources, the green economy, the construction of small hydroelectric power plants, as well as cooperation in the field of food security and agriculture.
The interlocutors noted the need to establish cooperation in the field of industrial entrepreneurship and promote regional cooperation, reconstruction and construction of production facilities, power lines, development of transport and road infrastructure, state mortgage lending.
The chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers noted that on April 8, the Energy Forum was held in Bishkek, following which a number of documents were signed on the development of projects in the field of renewable energy sources. In turn, the Vice President of the Asian Development Bank thanked Akylbek Zhaparov for organizing a trip to the Kumtor mine.
“The Kyrgyz Republic is an important partner of the Asian Development Bank. We intend to develop and strengthen cooperation within the framework of our commitments on key issues, including the transport and energy sectors. The republic has a clear vision and a plan for further development, and we want to take an active part in these events,” concluded Shixin Chen.
