Kyrgyz Cabinet chairman gets acquainted with production process at UzAuto Motors plant

Bishkek, March 9, 2023 /Kabar/. Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers - Head of the Presidential Administration of the Kyrgyz Republic Akylbek Zhaparov, who is on a working visit to Uzbekistan, got acquainted with the production process at the plant of the UzAuto Motors joint-stock company in the city of Asaka (Andijan region).

In the course of getting acquainted with the production, Akylbek Zhaparov noted that the automobile plant in the city of Asaka is a good example of attracting investments and efficient organization of the production process.

“As part of the development of trade and economic ties between the two countries, it is necessary to establish industrial cooperation. The first steps in this direction have been taken. Now it is only necessary to increase the pace of mutually beneficial cooperation with the UzAuto Motors plant so that the existing agreements would be put into practice in the near future," he stressed.

The construction of the plant in the city of Asaka began in June 1994. In March 1996, the production of the Damas car began at the enterprise.

Currently, such car models as Spark, Nexia, Cobalt, Lacetti (Gentra), Damas, Labo, Malibu, Tracker, Equinox, Trailblazer, Traverse and Tahoe roll off the assembly line of the enterprise under the Chevrolet brand.

Last year, the plant produced 327 thousand cars, this year it is planned to produce up to 400 thousand cars.
