Bishkek, April 4, 2022 / Kabar /. Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan Akylbek Zhaparov received a delegation of the Eurasian Group on Combating Money Laundering and Financing of Terrorism headed by its Chairman Yuri Chikhanchin, the press service of the Cabinet reported.
He noted that the Kyrgyz Republic attaches great importance to the programs of mutual evaluations and technical assistance of the Eurasian Group on Combating Money Laundering and Financing of Terrorism, through which measures are taken to improve our national system of counteraction.
“We always feel the organization's practical assistance in creating and strengthening the legal and institutional framework for combating the financing of terrorism and money laundering. I want to assure you that our republic remains committed to complying with its international obligations. We intend to continue the course aimed at continuity in the vector of development of our relations,” said Akylbek Zhaparov.
Chairman of the Eurasian Group on Combating Money Laundering and Financing of Terrorism Yuri Chikhanchin noted the readiness for further cooperation, including the provision of expert and advisory support in combating money laundering, as well as improving financial literacy among schoolchildren and students of higher educational institutions.
During the meeting, issues of increasing the effectiveness of the national system for combating money laundering and the financing of terrorism were discussed.
